How to use aromatherapy in your day-to-day life
The best way to tell if aromatherapy works for you is simply to try it. While there are plenty of expensive essential oil diffuser and so-called ‘essential oil starter packages’ out there, you don’t have to make such a big investment straight off the bat if you don’t want to. Here are a few ways you can incorporate it in your day-to-day life:
- Add a few drops of essential oil to your body cream before you put it on . This works best if you use an unscented cream or body oil of course.
- Put a little essential oil in your hair. If you use it sparingly it won’t make it oily. And you will enjoy a lovely whiff of fragrance every time your hair moves.
- Diffuse an oil of your choice in your home. There are inexpensive burners on the market that work with a tea candle. Or burn a scented candle.
- Add some oils to your bathwater at night.
Please note: Essential oils should not be consumed or applied directly to the skin without a carrier oil or being diluted in another way. These oils are highly concentrated and can be toxic if it’s not used in the intended way.
